From May, 24th to 28th 2023
Faced with the transformations that are upsetting the balances on which our societies have been built, and which have given rise to numerous « closed » narratives that limit what is possible, such as catastrophe narratives (the collapse) or programme narratives (the All-Market, the All-digital, etc.), the lawyer and academic Mireille Delmas-Marty has endeavoured to open up humanist paths for future societies.
The Compass of Possibilities, conceived as an « object-manifesto » by Mireille Delmas-Marty and the visual artist, will be central to the work of the conference, during which major societal issues (globalisation, climate change, etc.) and emerging levers for action will be confronted, analysed and debated. The compass will be the reference object on which to measure the effects of the paths that are taking shape; a mirror of the links and interdependencies that underpin our systems and weave the constraints or areas of freedom of the world to come.
The aim of this multidisciplinary, intergenerational and creative conference is to anticipate the consequences in the light of the Boussole couples. Based on the work of Mireille Delmas-Marty, and in line with the roadmap of the Normandy Chair of Excellence for Peace, the aim is to explore the tensions and identify the key issues for future societies: globalisation, globality or multiple commonalities, economic models and the urgency of transition.
