UN world environment day

On June 5, UN World Environment Day, also the third anniversary of the Normandy Chair for Peace, Tony organized another momentous meeting in his Dancing Dolphin House. This time itw as a meeting of concerned citizens and long-time fellow caretakers of the Earth. Some of them now have high-ranking positions. Together, they pledged to help declare the Verde Island Passage a National Marine Protected Area.

Senator Cynthia Villar, Congressman Edward Hagedorn, Cavite Governor Jonvic Remulla, environmental advocate Antonio Oposa Jr. and representatives of government and non-government groups sign a proposal to declare the Verde Island Passage as a fishery management area. It was held in a simple ceremony in Anilao, Mabini, in the Province of Batangas yesterday June 5, 2022. also UN World Environment Day. They seek to petition the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) to declare the passage as a World Heritage Site.
