Cinema-Meeting
Terra Libre by Gert-Peter Bruch | Documentary | 2h05min
Forests, oceans, biodiversity, climate: 20 years after the Rio Earth Summit, hope is dashed. As the countdown begins, the cacique Raoni and other iconic Amazon leaders reappear, dragging their allies and the planet’s new sentry guard in their wake. Logbook, investigation, but also a historical panorama retracing more than 30 years of struggle, “Terra Libre” lays bare the inertia, renunciation and compromise of those in power, who have become accomplices and sometimes even actors in a mass ecocide. Faced with the risk of our own extinction, the surge of the Guardians of the Amazon and their call for sacred union to protect future generations is a hope and an inspiration to humanity.
The screening will be followed by a meeting with Gert-Peter Bruch, Cacique Ninawa and Emilie Gaillard, General Coordinator of the Normandy Chair for Peace, Lecturer in Private Law, Sciences Po Rennes.
