The United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) Final Draft Resolution requesting an Advisory Opinion on Climate Change from the International Court of Justice has been formally released by the Government of Vanuatu.

Recently the Government of Vanuatu formally released the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) Final Draft Resolution requesting an Advisory Opinion on Climate Change from the International Court of JusticeAs such, the Normandy Chair for Peace, together with its partner, are organising an event on the 10th of March in anticipation and support for the UNGA vote that is scheduled to take place in late March 2023. We aim to discuss the nexus between climate change and existing regional human rights’ system and how an instrument of international law, such as an Advisory Opinion, can be useful to address the climate emergency.
