As part of the multi-year exchange series Borderline: Limits in debate in the fields of science and life. A debate entitled Générations futures : pourquoi s’en remettre à demain ? was co-organized by the Mission Agrobiosciences-Inrae, in co-production with the Quai des Savoirs, on Thursday, November 3 at the Agora of the Quai des Savoirs.
The Normandy Chair for Peace has been invited to take part in this debate, which is accessible to all audiences free of charge, and which leaves plenty of room for exchange and cross-examination, in order to collectively examine the points of friction and possible ways forward, without bias or avoidance, on the damage caused by past generations, the climatic emergency, the long-term effects of technologies, pollution or environmental degradation of all kinds, and the effects and tensions on the rights of future generations.
PROGRAMME :
PREAMBLE. Future generations: an activist’s word Introduction by Pousse, member of the international movement Youth for Climate.
DIALOGUE. Future generations: acting justly Emilie Gaillard, senior lecturer in law at Sciences-Po Rennes and general coordinator of the CNRS Normandy Chair of Excellence for Peace; and Valérie Deldrève, director of research in sociology at INRAE Nouvelle-Aquitaine Bordeaux, specialist in environmental inequalities.
A podcast will be available on all listening platforms in the coming weeks.
