Memorable meeting of rival law students to care for the sea

Last May 21, 2022, Saturday, Tony organized another memorable meeting of representatives of long-time rival universities – Ateneo and La Salle law schools

He invited the law students of Ateneo and La Salle Law Schools to his Dancing Dolphin House in Anilao, Batangas. There, he gave this presentation.

Typical of his action-oriented style, after the meeting, Tony invited the students to do hands-on coastal clean-up. Then as a reward to them, they were invited to go swimming in the beautiful beachfront of the new Garden by the SEA.

See attached letter of gratitude from the next generation of soon-to-be lawyers.

Thank you Atty. Oposa for hosting us in your beautiful house. After years of being stuck in quarantine, itwas great to see a slice of paradise. It reinforced my love for the environment and passion to protect it.

Thanks for teaching me that time spent in nature is time spent realizing that if we don’t act now everything will be lost.

would like to thank Atty. Oposa for hosting us in his home and teaching us about the value of a good story in the fight for preserving the environment for future generations. It was such an honor to hear from Atty. Oposa himself about what really took place behind the scenes when he fought for the right to balanced and healthful ecology for current and future generations.

Thank you for inviting us. I appreciate learning on the environment in an experiential manner. It is inspiring to learn the story and determination of the people behind the Oposa case especially from the petitioner himself. It is inspiring that a lawyer like Atty. Tony Oposa forewent the lucrative corporate law practice in favor environmental lawyering. Thank you for fighting for the next generations.

Hello Atty Oposa, Thank you so much for sharing with us your wonderful home and your beautiful story. You inspire us to do our part for our very future and for those that will come after. I hope to continue our ‘impossible dream’ of a green and sustainable future for humankind!

Best,

King Manalo
