Last June 14, Tuesday, a unique recognition event happened. This was to shine the spotlight of good stories of ordinary on-the-ground workers who have been helping to clean up Manila Bay. It was held upon the initiative of the Leader of the Normandy Chair for Peace in cooperation with the Philippine Department of Environment, and others. Most of the honorees were volunteer River Rangers who have been cleaning the streams, creeks, and rivers that lead to Manila Bay.
Below are some of the awards given to special friends like Ed Hagedorn, Cynthia Villar, etc.
This is the beginning of what we dream of where to bring the Good Stories Movement. One day, we will hold nation-wide, and later, world-wide recognition events of good stories. We will shine the spotlight on the example of people making peace with the Earth. Stories of the good, the bright, and the beautiful.
On this occasion, the Leader of the Normandy Chair for Peace presented a concept note to the Phil Department of Environment of how to turn the crisis of climate change into an opportunity for a climate OF change.
