The call of the earth

e-session – Screening Meeting

December 5, 2020 at 6pm

The Call of the Earth : a film by Lucas Taffin (22 mn)

The Earth Call is a cry of alarm to the world from the indigenous peoples of Colombia. This country, home to 10% of the world’s flora and fauna, is also the deadliest for social and environmental activists: 204 have been murdered since August 2018, when Iván Duque came to power. At the same time, the Colombian government is seeking to reform the legal framework that protects the rights of indigenous people and their territories. The message is clear, everything will be done to exploit Colombia’s resources. Immerse yourself in the story of those who live and die in defense of their land, our land, and become an ambassador of a message of unity and a call to protect Mother Earth.

Free screening followed by a discussion with :

• Lucas Taffin, director and co-founder of Human Conet, a young NGO that aims to promote social and environmental justice through the use of innovation and technology, • Juan Pablo, Colombian photographer who will share his experience with indigenous peoples through some photographs.
