José Juste Ruiz
José Juste Ruiz is a Professor of International Law at the University of Valencia (Emeritus). Adviser to the Spanish Government on conventions on the protection of the marine environment (London Dumping Convention 1972, OSPAR Convention 1992, Barcelona Convention 1976. Expert in various missions for FAO and the European Union in the Dominican Republic, South Africa, Uruguay, Brazil and Bolivia. National expert in the European Commission’s Legal Service (1994). Member of the drafting group for the Mediterranean Protocol on Integrated Coastal Zone Management (2004-2005). Member of the panel of Environmental Arbitrators of the Permanent Court of Arbitration in The Hague (2002). Member of the Compliance Committee of the Barcelona Convention (2012-2019).
