Geneviève Motard

Geneviève Motard, LL.B. (Montreal, 2000), LL.M. (Laval, 2008), LL.D. (Laval, 2013) is a full professor at the Faculty of Law of Laval University where she has been teaching constitutional law and the rights of Aboriginal peoples since 2009. Her research focuses on the political and territorial rights of Aboriginal peoples and the interactions between Aboriginal and state legal orders. She is a member of the Groupe de recherche sur les sociétés plurinationales (GRSP). She is also a member of the Centre for Indigenous Conservation and Alternative Development (CICADA) (Indigenous Peoples’ Rights and Interlegalities axis) and of the Interuniversity Centre for Indigenous Studies and Research (CIÉRA), of which she has been the director since September 2020. Her most recent research focuses on the issue of indigenous constitutionalism.
