Amos Chiya
Artistic and Music Director of the Kitezh Orchestra
Singapore-born Amos Chiya is currently the new Artistic and Music Director of the Kitezh Orchestra, an international youth orchestra in St. Petersburg, as well as Creative Advisor with the Foundation for the Arts and Social Enterprise in Singapore.
Maestro Chiya regularly works with opera houses and ballet companies throughout Russia and around the world, with his most recent appearance in Japan at the Spring Festival In Tokyo amid the coronavirus pandemic, and was also the first foreign conductor to open the 80th anniversary of the Lkhasaran Linkhovoin Opera Festival in Russia.
He is the First Prize winner at the 2nd St. Petersburg Open International Conducting Competition and the recipient of the Musin gold medal at the 5th Musin International Competition for Young Conductors, and was personally selected by the legendary Italian conductor Riccardo Muti to work with him on the operas of Verdi in Tokyo from 2019-2021.In addition to his musical work, Maestro Chiya is the Founder and Artistic Director of SENTIRE, helping the hearing and visually impaired in access, appreciate, and enjoy the performing arts in Singapore.
