Agnès Michelot
Agnès Michelot is a Senior Lecturer in Public Law at the Faculty of Law, Political Sciences and Management of the University of La Rochelle (France), Director of the Centre d’Etudes Juridiques et Politiques, specialised in international environmental law. Since 2013, she has been at the head of the Société Française pour le Droit de l’Environnement. She is an associate of the Economic, Social and Environmental Council and published the following report alongside Jean Jouzel: “La justice climatique: enjeux et perspectives pour la France” (Climate justice: challenges and prospects for France). She is the author of around 50 publications on Environmental Law.
She has also been a special associate with the environmental law training programme of the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR in Geneva, Switzerland), a consultant for UNESCO’s Man and the Biosphere Programme and for European Union integrated ecosystem management programmes in West Africa (ECOPAS and AGIR, financed by the European Development Fund). She is a member of the World Commission on Environmental Law of the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN, Gland, Switzerland).
Her areas of research: international and comparative environmental law, environmental justice, biodiversity law, natural risks in coastal areas, environmental refugees.
